Canal Footbridge Improvements

As part of the ongoing Canal Towpath Improvement works in Sefton, Wrenco Contractors were employed by Sefton MBC to begin a series of footbridge replacement projects.  The first of these projects was situated at Bedford Place Bootle.  The existing bridge served as a main thoroughfare for the thousands of doctors that worked on the Liverpool docks and resided in the terraced streets off Stanley Road, Bootle.

The Works involved;

Removal of existing Canal Footbridge (500t mobile crane)

Installation of scaffold to abutment ends

Break out existing brick pillars and parapets

Installation of new steps and parapets to match new steel footbridge

The project total was £100k and the client was Sefton Design Services / Sefton MBC.
